Boxing Clever

Boxing Clever

Hallo All!

We have had a super
topic this week haven't we?

It is good to have to think
outside the box now and
then...............oh do stop
groaning...............haha!

Here's Helen Chilton to
show us a completely
different take on the
Cubbeys:

"Here's my Tando Cubbeys Kit decorated with
Starlight paints and Kim Dellow stamps

Gesso the Cubbey boxes and glue them together
then paint in chosen colours of Starlights -
I used Jade, Canary yellow and Apple Green.

Stamp in black round the edges using EKD06.

Then paint them in using the same Starlight colours

Stamp and black emboss lots of the flowers
 and cut them out

Paint with more Starlights -
I used Orange Oxidized, Bright Fuchsia and
Dark Orchid as well as the colours already used

Wrap a length of copper wire round a bamboo skewer...

.....so that it looks like this.

Fix a brad to centre of flower

Flip over and attach wire stalk to the brad

Here are a selection of wired flowers.

Note I've cut the middle out of some of the flowers.

For the smallest Cubbey which I'm going to
use as a flower pot, insert a punched piece
of board to hold the wire stems.

Large Cubbey. The stalk on the front yellow flower
is made of thicker wire that's been flattened.

Medium sized Cubbey with a flower springing out the side.

Little Cubbey. I've scrumpled up thin
green wire to hold stems upright.

Then you can arrange them all

as you wish!"

Materials used:

PaperArtsy Kim Dellow stamps EKD06
Starlight Paints
Ranger Archival inkpad: Jet Black
Tando Creative Cubbeys: small starter kit with apertures
Wire
Brads

Love this Helen
Thank you very much

Im sure I would be constantly
changing the arrangement!
What fun!

'Til tomorrow

Mickie xx

PS:  Oh dear, I have just noticed that
I have not been spelling Cubbeys right.
Di if you are reading this.... I do apologise
