Mask week: put your sleeves on!

Hi,
This week will be all about masks, or templates as they are called too depending on the brand. These are 6x6" (15 x 15 cm) in size and made of durable plastic, so you can use them over and over again.
They are really fun to work with and you can create beautiful backgrounds on all your projects.
You can use them with inks, paints, misters, Copics even (really good for intricate details), chalks etc ...
On our website, you can find...

(here's a few but there are a lot more on the site)

(once again, this is just a teaser to all the templates we have on the website)

Most of the time, stencils are used with misters, which can be messy, I give you that (that's the fun part).
So Gio came up with the perfect samples/idea today: protective sleeves using The Crafter's Workshop template.
Here's how she made them....

For my next craft meeting! An easy and quick project: handmade artsy sleeve protectors.

I cut 2 rectangles from plain cotton 32X40 cm. I put the masks on the fabric and I started to spray Cosmic Mister Candy Pink, Lava Red, Mango Blush, Mango Blaze. I stamped the fabric using an Andy Skinner stamp with: Antiques and Red Crimson and Plum Archival ink.

I folded and sewed the right sides together. I folded one end about 2,5 cm and sewed it, leaving a 3 cm opening for the elastic. Using a large safety pin, I pulled through about 7" of elastic.
I sewed the ends of elastic together, I trimmed and topstitched to close the opening.
This makes the "wrist" end of the sleeve protector.

I coloured two pieces of lace with Cosmic Mister Pink.
I just sewed them on the other end very close to the raw edges.

Tip1: for the upper end it's better to use a piece of elastic lace and sew using an elastic thread.

Tip 2: Use your art journal or 30X30 paper to "clean" the stencils, no more white page to start with and no waste at all!

Material:
The Crafters Workshop templates - Flower shower and Houndstooth
Cosmic Shimmer Misters: candy pink, mango blaze, mango blush
Andy Skinner acrylic stamps: Antiques
Archival inks Red Crimson and Plum

How about this to start the week?
Tomorrow, we will be back with Neil and a patriotic AJ page
See you then
